New York State Guidance Issued Concerning Shared Space Arrangements Between Providers

On September 14, 2016, New York States Department of Health, Office of Mental Health and Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services jointly issued “Statewide Guidance on Space Arrangements Between Two or More Providers”.  Although the introductory “Overview” suggests that the guidance concerns only the integration of primary care and behavioral health services, the rest of the document makes clear that the guidance has broader applicability.

Providers contemplating entering into such shared space agreements should consult with their usual Garfunkel Wild attorney to assist them in negotiating and drafting such agreements.
